Sal’s vague and confusing thoughts directed at Samekichi in that one extra comic literally haunt me to this day. I can’t get him out of my head. “You failed to follow the path of the great sorcerer.” “Maybe we were never any more than pawns in The Sea King’s hand…” What path!? Did they know Meikai prior to the sea of death getting closed up!? Was The Sea King trying to use them for a specific purpose!? Who is their mom!? Why does Old not know he’s their dad!? How old are these two!?

can i just say that after seeing your most recent post about the person who called you a ‘rape apologist’ for liking syakesan and salwada that i honestly admire the maturity that you have when dealing with that. it’s horrible that someone would accuse you of something so serious based on something so trivial and that you absolutely do not deserve that kind of negativity. the attitude on tumblr to stuff like this is awful and i hope you don’t experience any hatemail because of it.

Ah, thank you. I really, really appreciate you taking the time to send this.

I try to deal with things like this in the most mature and reasonable way possible, honestly. It’s really fucking hurtful to me to see a post like that but I don’t want more drama or hate, I really don’t. However, I’m also not going to let someone who knows nothing about me accuse me of shit that simply isn’t true. At all.

I want to apologize for posting drama related stuff on this blog, tbh. But I also really want to discourage this kind of attitude.

Thank you again.

So. This is what I see after searching for ‘Mogeko’ with the Tumblr search function. Someone quoting one of my ask replies and calling me a ‘rape apologist’.

When have I ever said that rape is okay? Rape is wrong. Yet somehow I’m a ‘rape apologist’ because I like a fictional ship/character. Incredible.

Liking a character does not mean you think everything they do is right. Liking a ship does not mean you think the relationship is without flaws. You can still like a character while understanding they’ve done terrible things. You can still like a ship while understanding it’s a far cry from an ‘ideal’ relationship. I’ve said this many, many times, but apparently some people still don’t get it.

So I guess I’m saying it again, and perhaps I’ll have to say it many more times, unfortunately.

The fact that a stranger on the internet would call me something as insulting as a ‘rape apologist’ over liking a ship or character is exactly what is wrong with Tumblr.
